Work and play in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains! Be a mentor and guide for 5th and 6th grade students from across Southern California as they experience life at science camp. With a focus on whole-child development, ECOS Institute aims to cultivate in every child curiosity, confidence, and connections. Working as part of a team of 30 passionate and professional educators, Instructors facilitate natural science lessons rooted in the key components of student-lead exploration, inquiry, and investigation. Wildlife biology, local geology, and forest ecology are central to the curriculum, and all incoming staff receive thorough training as they learn the unique qualities of the local ecosystems. In addition to science education, you will help young students navigate other aspects of an overnight field trip. As a cabin leader, you will supervise a team of 12-13 students, guiding them through personal challenges, team-building activities, and a comprehensive camp experience that includes plenty of games, songs, and good 'ol fun! Instructors also serve as the primary supervisor for students in the cabins at night. Positions run from October 1st through May 31st, with Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks. Solterra Family Looking to hire a “Mom’s Helper” two afternoons a week. Duties would include: picking up our kids (ages 6 and 9) from school (or meeting them at the bus stop on our street); driving them to various activities; feeding them an afternoon snack and providing childcare until we get home; starting dinner prep; errands (grocery, dry cleaning, etc.).
