We are looking for a Respite Provider for our family for our son. The applicant would interview with us and then apply with Imagine! (a not-for-profit organization that helps us.) Pay is great: Base is $15.00/hour and there is an option for the person to make $17.07/hour when out in the community with B. It can be really rewarding "work" for the right person. We are looking for help after school and on the weekends at this point. In the summer we will be looking for more support.
What does a Respite Provider do? They get to hang out with B. (our 12 year old, 6th grader:)! They might go fishing or bowling. Play football or swim. They might go to the mountains or just have a cup of hot chocolate at Starbucks and work on homework! There is driving involved and, as noted, some weekends. B. is an incredibly gifted, independent, physically active kiddo!
We have already had a Respite employee (he's away at college) so we know exactly what we are looking for in a person:
3. Compassionate, tender, and funny
4. Adventurous (must love the outdoors and be willing to try new things)
5. Leader who has experience with kids
7. Relational and Community-minded. We are looking for someone that wants to invest in B. and our family.
If you know someone that is looking for part time work, who you would HIGHLY recommend we would love to hear from them. They can email me or call/text at 512-627-4553.
