Purpose The purpose of the MVPC Summer Intern Program is twofold: 1. To provide an opportunity for learning and training for future ministry 2. To encourage students to become involved in the life, worship, and mission of Christ’s church.
Responsibilities Assist the Director of Youth & Young Adults in the planning and leading of youth programs including: a. Mountain View Youth Group – Junior & Senior High Students weekly gathering for games, dinner, & lesson b. Workstudy and Other Special Events or Trips or Bible Studies Assist the Christian Education Director in planning and leading the childrens programs a. Children’s Church b. Vacation Bible School and Special Events or Trips Build relationships with students through weekly visits, e-mails, letters, phone calls, etc Prayerfully guide students toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Counsel and support students Be a positive example and above reproach
Possess a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a firm commitment to serve His church Clear self-identity and ability to set proper personal boundaries in ministry Have a teachable, willing servant’s heart Eagerness to lead and be self-motivated in planning, creating, and implementing programs Must have completed a minimum of sophomore year in college or out of High School for 2 years
