POSITION SUMMARY McDowell Mountain Community Church is a community following Jesus, learning to love. The Elementary Director furthers this by a) creating opportunities for kids to experience the love and truth of Jesus, b) raising up volunteers to do the work of the Elementary ministry, and c) implementing the vision of the Children’s Pastor. Providing leadership and curriculum assistance to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall elementary program. The scope of this position includes: room preparation, volunteer organization and child/parent relationship building during Sunday morning services, in addition to an agreed-upon schedule during regular office hours. The director will also work to ensure that safe, Christ-centered childcare is available for other church-related events and programs

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• First point of contact for questions, concerns, new families to the Elementary Education ministry

• Assist Children’s Pastor in writing curriculum

• Distribute and upload all lesson plans for all elementary classes

• Schedule all volunteers for elementary classes

• Prepare classrooms prior to Sunday mornings with necessary materials

• Sunday mornings a) Be an active manager of Sunday morning classes b) Plan and implement large group (story/worship) c) Assist with check in/out process on Sunday mornings d) Serve as an on-call substitute should a teacher not show and no backup is available

• Facilitate the integration of new volunteers and families to the Elementary program

• Attend necessary staff meetings

• Assist in developing a follow-up process for new students and their families

• Assist with planning, coordinating and being present at special events such as Trunk-or Treat, Fountain Hills Eggstravaganza, Camp Create, Summit 45

• Assist with coordination of childcare for church events such as LeadNet, date nights, etc.

• Assist with coordination, questions, instruction and service of baptisms

• Run miscellaneous errands for the Elementary department

• Respond to emergencies/urgent issues as they arise

• Answer general phone calls and emails and respond within a 24-hour time frame, in reference to Elementary inquiries

• Maintain inventory of needed supplies

 

QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience

• College degree in ministry or education

• Essential Experience o 1-2 years volunteer or vocational experience working with children

• Preferred Experience o Previous experience working as a leader o Experience in recruiting and leading volunteers

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND/OR ABILITY

• Proficient computer skills in Mac software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to learn new software programs quickly

• Passion for helping people

• Confidentiality, emotional and relational intelligence

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills in both verbal and written communications

• Excellent customer service skills

• Attention to detail is essential

• Collaborative team player who naturally motivates and encourages others

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

    Boulder Chinese Evangelical Free Church, located in Lafayette, Colorado, is a small church with great potential for ministry growth. We currently have a Chinese speaking congregation of mostly adults, and an English speaking congregation of mostly youth.  We are seeking a full-time Youth/English minister.     Contact: Pastor Canaan Harris (303)744-1015 canaan@centralchristiandenver.org Position Description: Central Christian is hiring a part-time Youth Minister for our small but consistent group of youth that participate on Sunday mornings. The position requires being at church on Sunday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm plus 1 paid planning hour per week for a total of five hours a week.  The Youth Minister is expected to arrive at the church on Sunday mornings by 8:30am to engage with the youth and their families as they arrive. The youth will then join in “Sunday School” style discussion at 9am, sit together in worship at 10am, and then have additional “Youth Group” style community building time after worship from 11:15-12:30pm. The Youth Minister will also have opportunities to participate in worship, get to know the youth and their families outside of church, and provide leadership for other activities and ministry opportunities for youth as needed. Currently, Central has less than ten active teenagers involved on Sunday mornings, however the position is capable of growing along with the size and needs of the group. The position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and therefore also can serve as an opportunity for vocational mentorship or internship in ministry.
