Brief Job Description: The Sagebrush Church Residency Program is a one year leadership training program designed to give hands-on working experience, personal and professional mentoring, and leadership training to equip emerging church leaders for a lifetime of impacting ministry.

- The residency start dates will generally follow the semester schedule. - Residents work up to 25 hours per week. - Residents are paid $13/hr, plus housing (for single residents) - A relocation allowance is available to those outside of New Mexico

EXPERIENCE The main goal of the residency program is to provide ministry experience. The program’s function is to ensure that the residents have the ability and knowledge to effectively and competently lead a student ministry. To accomplish this, the residency’s weekly focus will be structured around hands-on experience.

COACHING The residents will be assigned a coach to meet with one-on-one twice a month. During these 45-60 minute coaching sessions, they will discuss the resident’s ability to uphold Sagebrush Church’s standard of work ethic and level of excellence with the team. The goal in coaching is to provide the resident with practical feedback regarding his or her current tasks and assignments; and to encourage growth in his or her ministry competence.

DEVELOPMENT Twice a month, the resident will meet one-on-one for about an hour to further his or her development as a follower of Jesus and the person He has called him or her to be. The focus here is on who the resident is rather than what the resident does. This is to ensure that the resident is progressing as a person and as a Christian during the term of the residency.

MINISTRY TRAINING Being a part of the culture at Sagebrush Church will benefit residents by being invited to be a part of a team that strives towards excellence to know Christ and to make Christ known. On our team, residents will begin to own and understand what it takes to work in a large team that values excellence, ownership, and teamwork. This training will equip residents to perform student/youth pastor responsibilities at Sagebrush.

FEEDBACK Each quarter, the resident will participate in a formal evaluation process that provides feedback to the resident and the resident’s coach. This is a valuable process to check the status of the resident in his or her overall performance and spiritual health, as well as readiness for student ministry. While the evaluation process is an important tool in its own right, it will also provide an opportunity to highlight areas for the resident’s growth and to set personal and professional goals for the next quarter.Upload a File (Job Description)Remix 2019 Residency Overview.pdf
