Bethany Bible Church of Belleville, Michigan is seeking a full-time Assistant Pastor of Youth and Family. BBC is located 30 miles west of Detroit and 10 miles east of Ann Arbor. We are a growing congregation of 350+ attendees (200+ members) with a focus on expository preaching and a blended worship style that leans contemporary. Our mission as a church is to glorify God by leading people to faith in Jesus Christ, developing one another to Christ-like maturity, and equipping one another for life-long service.


The man that God calls for the position will be a spiritual leader for our congregation and help move our vision and purpose forward for Youth, Young Adult and Family Ministries. He must be firmly grounded in the Word, vigilant in prayer, have a heart for the lost, and a desire for the edification of the saints. His primary areas of responsibility and oversight will include the Youth Ministry (along with the families involved), developing a vibrant Young Adult Ministry and some oversight of the Children’s Ministries in coordination with other ministry leaders.

Job Description – Assistant Pastor of Youth & Family Job Description


General Pastoral Care

- To faithfully study and teach the Word of God

- To faithfully pray for and support the ministries of Bethany Bible Church

- To faithfully shepherd and care for the people of Bethany Bible Church

- To faithfully assist the other pastors in pastoral duties as needed including:

- Occasionally filling the pulpit

- Administration of ordinances

- Counseling

- Visitation

- Administrative responsibilities

- Ministry development


Youth Ministry

- Develop and maintain ministries involving youth with an emphasis on evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry

- Work within the allotted budget to oversee youth ministry

- Oversee the Wednesday night Youth Ministry program

- Regularly recruit, train, encourage and lead youth leaders

- Develop and sustain a vibrant team of ministering teens

- Counsel parents and teens as needed

- Oversee and run regular monthly youth activities, with strategic emphases on evangelism, discipleship, fellowship and ministry

- Oversee at least one annual youth retreat

- Oversee an annual Mission Trip

- Actively participate and involve youth in the major outreaches/events of the church

- Oversee transitional times for teens moving into and out of the youth ministry

- Work to gain an active and positive presence at the local schools


Other Ministries

- Family Ministry: to regularly meet with parents and families of youth for the purpose of evangelism, discipleship and counseling

- Young Adult Ministry: to develop a dynamic ministry for young adults (18-30 yrs) in connectivity with the youth ministry and broader church

- Children’s Ministry: to work with the CE Committee and Daycare staff in overseeing the children’s ministries of BBC, including seasonal events such as B3, Fall Fest, and Winter Carnival

- Develop strategic partnerships with like-minded Christian organizations and churches



- Regularly participate in CE Meetings as needed

- Regularly participate in all weekly Staff meetings and monthly Board meetings

- Provide regular assistance to ensure efficiency and effectivity of various administrative office tasks

We currently have a Chinese speaking congregation of mostly adults, and an English speaking congregation of mostly youth.  We are seeking a full-time Youth/English minister.     Contact: Pastor Canaan Harris (303)744-1015 Position Description: Central Christian is hiring a part-time Youth Minister for our small but consistent group of youth that participate on Sunday mornings. The position requires being at church on Sunday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm plus 1 paid planning hour per week for a total of five hours a week.  The Youth Minister is expected to arrive at the church on Sunday mornings by 8:30am to engage with the youth and their families as they arrive. The youth will then join in “Sunday School” style discussion at 9am, sit together in worship at 10am, and then have additional “Youth Group” style community building time after worship from 11:15-12:30pm. The Youth Minister will also have opportunities to participate in worship, get to know the youth and their families outside of church, and provide leadership for other activities and ministry opportunities for youth as needed. Currently, Central has less than ten active teenagers involved on Sunday mornings, however the position is capable of growing along with the size and needs of the group. The position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and therefore also can serve as an opportunity for vocational mentorship or internship in ministry.
