Job Function:
This position is directly supervised by Camp Director
Leads support staff in serving guests through outdoor activities and trips while furthering the mission of TWM.
Delivers program activities that are safe, fun and appropriate.
Assists in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of Camp Director.
Essential Job Duties:
Leads and organizes camper activities while directing support staff and offering leadership and supervision through all activities
Follows and maintains all safety and operational procedures
Coordinates all camp activities schedules with all other staff
Ensures that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures during camp programs
Maximizes teachable moments during activities
Maintains communication with groups prior to arrival to make sure expectations are clear and prepared for in advance
Responsible for maintenance and storage of camp/activity equipment. Oversees that all equipment is safe, clean, properly stores and in good repair
Maintains forest service and BLM compliance, permits, fees, etc.
Ensure that all pre-camp checklists are followed and in order utilizing support staff to accomplish all goals
Assists with camper check-in, welcoming groups, going over rules, getting to know campers and group leaders
This can be a physically demanding position requiring some light lifting and leading of some outdoor activities/sports. Also requires willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering program while dealing with some exposure to sun, heat, wind, snow, and other varying weather conditions.
