Brief Job Description:

With many exciting things happening right now, and more on the horizon, Good News Community Church is a great place to work and invest in the Kingdom of God. We are currently looking for a leader to drive our small groups for adults –we call ‘em LIVE Groups. This part-time staff position will build on our already successful small groups ministry –we currently have over 75% of our adults in LIVE Groups. If you’re the right person to grow this ministry, you must be able to develop, train, and support small group leaders. The end goal is to transform men and women into Jesus followers… disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love others, and serve the world.

 

Ministry Target: Adults, both inside and outside of the church

Accountable to: Connections Director

Anticipated Time Commitment: Estimated 12 hours a week

 

Qualifications:

-Demonstrate a healthy, growing relationship with God, directed by the Holy Spirit through the Bible and prayer

-Hold a Bible centered, evangelical Christian theology

-Hold the conviction that the local church exists to bring glory to God through both the evangelism of non-Christians and the discipleship of believers

-Have track record for being a team player who develops other leaders

-Be ready to laugh and enjoy life (don't be a stick in the mud)

 

Specific Responsibilities:

-Provide vision, planning, and strategy for adult small groups that transforms adults into disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love others, and serve the world

-Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the LIVE Groups during the school year (LIVE Groups are a specific format of small groups that we use)

-Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the summer elective small groups

-Oversee theology and curriculum choices used throughout the small groups

-Recruit, train, lead, support, and assist volunteers throughout the small groups ministry who lead and serve in various aspects, especially small group leaders

-Create a strategy to ensure a minimum of 75% of adults at Good News are actively involved in a LIVE Group

-Communicate about the small group ministry to the Core (our leadership team), the congregation, and the community

-Preach 4 times a year

-Lead various elements of the worship service on a regular basis (such as offering, announcements, or communion)

 

Paid Staff Expectations:

-Nurture an on-going, healthy, and growing relationship with God

Be an Owner of Good News Church (living a life that honors Jesus, participating in weekly worship services, active member of LIVE Group, serving in Jesus' name, and generously supporting the church financially)

-Annually set goals for area of ministry and strive to reach them

-Actively participate in monthly one-on-one with direct supervisor

-Actively participate in monthly Core training

-Maintain healthy relationships with the congregation and Core

Once accepted into ACMNP, our staff connects you with a full-time, seasonal position in the park you were placed. We are also train each team member in leadership development and euipp them for the specific park they were placed in. ACMNP could fulfill this requirement while taking you to a majestic setting, allowing you to earn a paycheck, and serve others through worship and relational ministry! *Seminarians will also receive a $1500 scholarship when serving with us. Outside of working approximately 40 hours a week in or near a national park, ACMNP team members are expected to lead approximately 1-3 interdenominational worship services on Sundays with their team. This may include leading worship, sharing a message, and greeting worship attenders. ACMNP team members are also expected to spend time on Saturday nights inviting park visitors to their worship services. Often times, ministry teams lead bible studies or help with park stewardship initiatives! Housing is provided at a minimum cost from the employer. Expect to work a 90 day minimum from May - late August.
