Position Description:

Lead music on Sunday mornings for a new Anglican church plant in a low income neighborhood. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves music and would like to continue to develop as a worship leader and gain experience.

 

Position Requirements:

● A desire to serve Jesus in dependence upon his daily grace

● A desire to learn from others

● A desire to serve in a low income and diverse church context

● Have some experience leading music vocally and playing instrument

● Play either guitar or piano

● 3 hours on the Sunday Mornings (9am to noon) you are scheduled. Doesn’t need to be available every Sunday. The schedule is flexible and will be determined based on interns availability.

● 2-3 hours during the week you are scheduled to lead for prayer, music prep and planning in partnership with the lead pastor.

 

Compensation details for this position: $100 stipend per Sunday Time Duration/Commitment: Ongoing

SUMMARY OF POSITION Open Bible is a Multi-cultured Baptist Church located in the South East portion of Colorado Springs,CO. We are seeking a worship leader to serve on the church management team for a congregation of approximately 130. The ideal candidate will be a gifted musician that can lead vocally from the Keys or Guitar with at least three years of experience on staff at a church where he/she was responsible for the planning and direction of corporate worship services. He/She should be spiritually growing with a consistent walk with Christ, possess strong people skills and the ability to work as part of a cohesive ministry team. This candidate should be willing to commit solely to the OBBC family. He/She should also be an internally motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented and who can manage multiple projects well. Primary responsibilities include developing and directing an innovative, multi-lingual, and multi-cultured corporate worship for OBBC. This includes the planning and execution of weekly Sunday and Wednesday worship services, developing, directing and leading all musicians, vocalist, audio/video aspects and volunteers, special praise events, and recruiting and training gifted musicians and singers to participate in the music and worship ministry for multiple genres and multiple cultures.     Supervisor: Senior Pastor JOB DESCRIPTION Purpose Church is seeking a part-time Worship Leader. This individual works in partnership with the Senior Pastor, while leading a Worship Ministry and the congregation in a life of gratitude and praise to God. This person plans, designs, coordinates, and facilitates a unified worship experience, and relates to church members. We seek a spiritually mature, biblical, prayerful Christian gifted in leadership of all ages, bringing encouragement and vision for worship to the church as a whole. This is part-time, contract position of approximately 12.5-15 hours per week, with future growth potential to a full-time ministry position. Regular participation in Staff and occasional attendance at Elder meetings is expected as well as any other duties as assigned. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Worship service planning and implementation. Coordination of Musicians and Volunteers. Research, locate and make choices about music to be learned and used. Prepare music for team: lyric sheets, chord sheets and sheet music. Management of music equipment. Plan and prepare for workshop events for the purposes of learning new music, developing skills, team building, and spiritual renewal. Plan and prepare for annual team retreats. Plan, prepare and lead auditions for the team. Lead team in prayer, team building and worship, as well as in rehearsal. · Work closely with any other teams in planning and preparing for church services or other church events. · Responsible for all technical and aesthetic aspects of worship and coordinating volunteers who serve in that capacity. · Work with Elders, Staff and volunteers to accomplish our purpose to Love God, Love People and Make Disciples both within our church and our surrounding community. · Plan, implement and evaluate the annual worship calendar, including service formats, themes, and special programs to assure the necessary music ministry is provided. · Develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church. A person that is willing to be creative and dedicated to connecting students to our  Creator through musical worship. Our hope is to raise the affections of God's youth, growing their passion for worship. We are seeking someone who is upbeat, positive, full of energy, and excited to be a part of a team. Responsibilities would include but not be limited to: Leading worship for both the High School and Middle School Ministry, building a full band for our High School ministry and at the very least an acoustic-type set for our Middle School ministry, and assisting the Middle School and High School Pastor in creating a God-centered and experiential worship experience for our students.
